What the weather is like in Fiambalá

High desert climate: it hardly ever rains, the sun is strong all year round and temperatures can swing more than 20 °C between day and night. In summer afternoons go above 35 °C; in winter days are mild and nights are cold.

The wind usually picks up after midday. What little rain there is comes in summer, as short thunderstorms.

Tips

  • Dunes: early morning or at sunset. In the afternoon the sand burns and the wind blows it around.
  • With rain or thunderstorms, even far away, don't go into Cañón del Indio or other gorges: water comes down suddenly.
  • Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and water at all times, in winter too.
  • Bring something warm for the night even if the day is hot.
