Stops
- Duna Mágica de Saujil
- Dunas de Tatón
North of Fiambalá, between Saujil and Tatón, rise some of the tallest sand dunes in the world. It's a short outing, suitable for almost everyone, that mixes a bit of adventure with a lot of scenery.
The first stop is the Duna Mágica in Saujil, the favourite for sandboarding: you walk up and slide down on the board. No previous experience needed.
The tour then continues to the Tatón dunes, with time to walk along the ridges and take photos with the Andes behind before heading back to town.
Good to know
- Afternoon departures have better light for photos; morning ones, cooler sand.
- In summer the sand gets very hot at midday: closed shoes, a cap, sunscreen and water.
- Wind tends to pick up in the afternoon; sunglasses help with the sand.
